Peter Nero and Philly Pops to perform free concert at Independence Hall
In what has become one of Philadelphia's most famous Fourth of July traditions, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops will return to celebrate America’s birthday in a special “POPS on Independence” performance in front of Independence Hall in Independence National Historical Park on Friday, July 2 at 8:30 p.m.

“Thanks to the generous support of good corporate citizens such as Amway Global, we can continue to provide high quality, free, family-friendly entertainment for the Wawa Welcome America! festival. Peter Nero and the Philly POPS is a wonderful part of the festival and is always a highly anticipated concert each year,” said Mayor Nutter.

Peter to play annual benefit concert for the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center
Despite the struggling economy, this year will be no different, as Peter Nero and the Philly Pops return for their ninth annual benefit concert at the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton on Oct. 2.

"This will be our ninth year and I think that's a record for us playing anywhere outside Philadelphia," Nero said at Morris Hall/ St. Lawrence in announcing this year's concert yesterday. Read more...

Peter is on stage this week in a tribute program entitled "The Great American Tenor."

From his wild, fiery Philadelphia youth to his MGM Hollywood blockbusters, Lanza's tenor was one in ten million. Hear Peter Nero and the Philly Pops in this very special salute. The arias, the hits, the magic of Mario Lanza. A voice so big it'll take at least four singers to celebrate it!
